Stage 05 · Journal-Specific Formatting

Journal Manuscript Editing

Align the full submission package with the journal’s instructions and editorial expectations.

Why this stage matters

The problem this service solves.

Journal instructions can be fragmented across author guidelines, article-type pages, reference rules, and submission-system prompts. Missing declarations or inconsistent formatting can delay technical checks and distract from an otherwise ready manuscript.

Formatting is most useful when it is treated as submission readiness rather than decoration. Our checklist shows not only what was changed, but what the author still needs to confirm before entering the journal system.

The editor converts relevant journal instructions into a manuscript-specific compliance checklist.

Scope questions

Before you choose manuscript editing.

If your question depends on the manuscript itself, include it in your quote request and we will answer against the actual brief.

Do you submit the manuscript to the journal?

Submission handling is included only where explicitly stated in the selected plan or quotation. Standard manuscript editing prepares and checks the files for author submission.

Will you verify every reference against the source?

Formatting does not automatically include source-by-source reference verification. We flag visible inconsistencies and can quote deeper reference checking separately.

What if the journal changes its instructions?

We use the instructions available when the project begins and record the access date. Material changes after delivery may require an updated compliance pass.

Can you format tables and figures?

We align captions, callouts, numbering, and provided files to journal instructions. Scientific redrawing or complex graphical redesign is quoted separately.

Does this include language editing?

It includes limited language corrections encountered during formatting. A manuscript needing systematic sentence-level work should receive copyediting first.
